Watch Description

HALIOS Watches runs on three principles: 1) offer a quality, well-built watch that you can take into the water; 2) exceed your after-sales support expectations; and 3) strive to design the next watch icon.

A BRIEF HISTORY

I started this company in 2009, wracked with an increasingly all-consuming obsession with watches. HALIOS is the natural progression of a near-lifelong infatuation with these magnificent machines. It began with analog, moved on to digital, then lingered on almost everything imaginable in between. These days, you can see my interests reflected in the current HALIOS lineup: small, water-ready, spirit very much shaped and informed by the sport watches of the '60s.

HALIOS got its start on the online forums dedicated to dive watches, where lively and frank discussion by enthusiasts can readily be found, relatively uncoloured by the gloss of "official" corporate PR messaging. While the hardcore enthusiasts still make up the bulk of the HALIOS customer base, an increasing number is now comprised of first-time watch owners.

PRODUCTION

Our manufacturing partners are based primarily in Asia, with final QC and testing taking place in Vancouver, Canada. Watch movements are typically sourced from either Japan or Switzerland, depending on market availability and watch model. Production runs are small to ensure timely fulfillment, uncompromising quality control and the flexibility to dedicate resources to producing new designs.

I am very excited to have you discover the watches. Thank you for visiting, and please drop me a line if I can answer any questions.

Faithfully,

Jason Lim, founder and eternal watchaholic

A.I. Watch Review:

# Halios Seaforth IV Review by A.I. WatchMetrics

## Watch Summary
The Halios Seaforth IV is a premium microbrand dive watch from Singapore, featuring a compact 39mm 316L stainless steel case with balanced proportions (46.3mm lug-to-lug, 12.5mm thick), 300m water resistance, unidirectional aluminum bezel with signature dot-over-90 marker, matte dial with applied indices and heavy C3 Super-LumiNova, powered by the reliable Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement with 38-hour power reserve and hacking seconds—tailored for the tool-watch enthusiast who values boutique quality, vintage-inspired design, and everyday wearability over brand prestige.

## Overall Watch Rating: 6.9/10.0

**Dials & Design Metric (9.0/10.0)** - The Seaforth IV's matte dial, raised indices, and unique bezel typography deliver exceptional visual depth and legibility, on par with higher-end divers like the Tudor Black Bay.

**Material Metric (8.7/10.0)** - Grade 316L steel construction with double-domed AR-coated sapphire and refined brushing/polishing rivals mainstream luxury divers from Oris or Longines.

**Versatility Metric (8.5/10.0)** - At 39mm with rubber strap compatibility and subtle vintage styling, it transitions seamlessly from ocean adventures to casual office wear, much like a versatile Seiko Prospex.

**Functions Metric (7.5/10.0)** - Strong core dive capabilities including 300m WR, dive bezel, date, and potent lume provide reliable utility comparable to entry-level Omega Seamaster models.

**Brand Metric (7.0/10.0)** - Halios punches in the high-premium tier with low-volume production and cult following, similar to Sinn or Christopher Ward but with more exclusive appeal.

**History & Innovation Metric (6.2/10.0)** - Solid niche presence since 2009 with thoughtful microbrand innovations in lume and finishing, though lacking the iconic heritage of established names like Blancpain.

**Rarity Metric (5.6/10.0)** - Limited runs of around 150 per colorway offer decent scarcity for its $1,100 price, akin to other boutique divers but not ultra-exclusive like independent grail pieces.

**Movement Metric (5.5/10.0)** - The Sellita SW200-1 provides dependable in-house-like performance with 28,800 vph and 26 jewels, matching mid-tier automatics from Hamilton or Nomos base calibers.

**Complications Metric (4.0/10.0)** - A simple date window at 3 o'clock is functional but basic, on par with standard tool watches lacking advanced features found in Grand Seiko.

## Total Performance Score (TPS): 4.1

## WM Collector Grade: B

## Performance Insights: Excels in dials, materials, and versatility while movement and complications are average; offers strong value trading at $1,100 against an implied price of $22,000 based on its metrics.

## TPS Interpretation: Solid Value: This microbrand overperforms in design and build relative to price, ideal for collectors seeking luxury-level execution without luxury markup.
